Beef Tator Tot Casserole
Hearty and comforting, this casserole combines seasoned ground beef, tender broccoli, crispy tater tots, and plenty of melted cheese in every bite. It’s an easy, family-friendly dinner that’s perfect for busy nights and guaranteed to satisfy.
Ingredients
Casserole
- 4 cups frozen tator tots
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 5 oz condensed cream of broccoli soup
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped broccoli (frozen or fresh)
- 1/2 onion (chopped)
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese (divided)
Toppings
- tomato (chopped)
- sour cream
- store bought pico
- sliced green onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°. Spread Tater Tots evenly in an ungreased 13×9-in. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a large skillet add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, chopped onion, and broccoli. Sautee on medium for 5-6 minutes until both are cooked. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Wipe out the skillet with a paper towel, then cook the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink (5-7 minutes). Drain the oil and then stir in the seasonings, soup, milk, broccoli, onions, 1/4 cup cheese. Cook for 3-4 minutes until everything is well mixed. The pour on top of cooked tator tots.
- Bake, covered, 20 minutes. Sprinkle with the remaining onions and cheese. Bake, uncovered, until cheese is melted, 5-10 minutes.
- Let rest for 15 minutes, then server into indivitual bowls and top with whichever topping your prefer
