Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken

Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, slow cooker BBQ chicken is the kind of meal that practically makes itself. The chicken cooks low and slow until it’s perfectly shredable, soaking up every bit of that rich, tangy barbecue sauce. It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing option for sandwiches, bowls, or simple weeknight dinners.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 chicken breast (boneless & skinless)
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 4 potato rolls
  • 4 Slices cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Combine the paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  • Sprinkle the seasoning over both sides of the chicken breasts.
  • Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker, then pour the BBQ sauce over top making sure the chicken is fully covered.
  • Place a lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 hours or low for 4-5 hours. Turning the chicken half way through the cook time
  • After cooking, use two forks to shred the chicken. Chicken should be easy to shred at this point, if it's not cook for 30min longer.
  • Serve the pulled BBQ chicken on a potato roll with a slice of cheddar cheese
  • Add the chicken, seasonings, and BBQ sauce into a slow cooker
  • cook on high for 2-3 hours, flipping the chicken over halfway through
  • Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred, then place back into the slower cooker until ready to eat. Turn the setting to slow, or off completely until ready to eat
  • To make a sandwich: use 1/2 cup of shredded chicken, 1 slice of cheese, and a hamburger bun (preferrable a potato roll)
